"Amigos" App
A smartly designed way to find your big trip partners

Goal
To help discharged Israeli soldiers find compatible travel partners for the big trip abroad safely, easily, and enjoy. The app focuses on connection, trust, and simplicity, turning the stressful process of finding travel companions into an exciting shared experience.
Audience
Amigos is designed for young Israelis aged 20–27 who recently finished their military service and are about to start their long journey abroad. This audience is diverse secular, religious, and traditional but shares the same desire: to explore the world and create friendships along the way.
Problem Statement
Young Israelis finishing military service often struggle to find compatible travel partners for the big trip abroad. Current solutions (social media, dating apps, or travel forums) are not designed for this specific purpose and fail to combine safety, personalization, and cultural relevance leading to mismatched or unsafe experiences.
Research
User research focused on understanding how young Israelis look for travel partners and what they expect from such an app. 80% of surveyed users said they struggled to find partners “on their vibe.”
Competitor analysis revealed that no existing apps provide local relevance or verified safety.
Personas and user journeys were created to define pain points: lack of trust, too many generic options, and difficulty connecting before the trip.
Insights
Users need a fast, trustworthy, and easy-to-use platform.
Personalization filters (destination, gender, religion, trip type) are essential for relevance.
The tone and visuals must feel authentically Israeli friendly, bold, and not overly corporate.

Amigos provides a simple and intuitive experience: A clean interface that focuses on matching and messaging. Verified profiles for safety and reliability. Smart filters for customized matching.
A social feed to connect before traveling and build community trust.
The UX was designed to feel like chatting with a friend warm, direct, and effortless, reflecting the Israeli personality.
Concept
The concept reflects Israeli authenticity trait recognized worldwide that symbolize Israeli directness (“חוצפה”). Amigos embraces that energetic, social, and unfiltered spirit, creating an environment that feels friendly, direct, and proudly Israeli. It’s more than a matching app, it’s a digital reflection of the Israeli traveler’s personality.
Brand Identity
Amigos creates a community feeling through its the words, visuals, and imagery. The design uses photos of real people and moments from trips to build emotional connection and trust. Every element from layout to copy supports the idea of shared adventure and confidence in meeting new people.
